Playing with the flower design to surprise !

Biannual flowerbed - Gardens And Cities

In a recent post named A flowerbed in the shade, I started to explain some principles about how to associate colors.  Do not hesitate to read it, here.

In this post, I would like to show how it is possible to create a surprise playing with the graphics of flowers. These massive flowers of these very beautiful tulips contrast with the delicacy of the Myosotis flowers. To animate your flowerbeds, do not hesitate to vary the shapes of flowers and plants. Myosotis can be very invasive. Make sure that you balance the different species in your flowerbeds.

A lot of beautiful combinations exist and we will have the opportunity to discover them together in the following articles about the floral displays in cities.

Another last article after this one and we will start posts about summer flowers. Most of the green spaces departements in France have started or finished their plantations.

Here is the design of this flowerbed:

  • Erysimum linifolium “Peach”
  • Heuchera sanguinea “Marmelade”
  • Myosotis alpestris “Rosasylva”
  • Papavert nidicaule “Bulle de champagne rose”
  • Viola “Pink Shades”
  • Tulip “Lingerie”
  • Tulip “Salmon Impression”

  • Euphorbia amygdaloides “Purpurea”
  • Lunaria biennis “Pourpre”
  • Pulsatile vulgaris “Pinwheel Blue violet Shades”
  • Viola cornuta “Sorbet Purple duet”
  • Viola “Violet”
  • Tulip “Traveller”
